“I love cooking, gardening, and knowing where my food comes from. So when I heard about the oyster mushroom growing workshop, I was immediately interested. Mushrooms are an incredibly nutritious and sustainable food source. My husband and I had tried growing them at home before, but it didn’t go very well. During the workshop, I discovered how the process really works, and that got me super excited.
What I especially liked was that you learn about biology, technology, and collaboration all at once. It brought people together, and that sense of community — growing, cooking, experimenting together — that’s the most beautiful part for me.
I also see a future in it: working with children around mushrooms, giving workshops, maybe even studying biotechnology further. This project touches on everything I care about: living sustainably, learning by doing, and connecting people through food.”
