Mushrooms of the Community
Participants of the Nothing is Waste – Training the Trainer workshop are now successfully growing their own mushrooms using the low-tech, sustainable techniques they learned during the two-day seminar. Hosted by Future of Hope vzw with the support of the National Lottery, the workshop focused on reusing everyday materials—such as straw, coffee grounds, and seeds—to cultivate edible mushrooms at home.
This hands-on training not only provided practical skills but also encouraged participants to share their knowledge within their communities, turning waste into valuable resources. Thanks to the free access and community-focused approach, the impact of the workshop continues to grow—literally!
